Kami

Kami is a classroom learning platform that allows you to interactively annotate, edit, and collaborate on existing learning materials such as PDFs, documents, and images in a digital environment.

Basic concepts

Teachers can upload paper worksheets, PDFs, Word documents, Google Docs/Slides, PowerPoint, image files, etc. to Kami, and students can write, draw, and leave audio/video notes directly on the screen.
It specializes in realizing a paperless classroom, as existing materials can be digitized and used directly in classes without a printer or copier.
It works both online and offline, using a web browser (Chrome extension) and an app.

Key Features

Annotation and editing tools

Provides a variety of annotation tools, including text input, highlighting, underlining, strikethrough, freehand drawing, shapes, text boxes, and stamps.
It also includes tools for entering mathematical formulas and graphing, so it can be used in math and science classes.
You can freely edit documents using the PDF Split/Merge function.

Various forms of expression

Students can respond and express themselves in a way that suits them, such as not only text, but also audio recording, video recording, voice typing, and freehand drawing.
Teachers can also leave personalized feedback in the form of text, audio, or video comments.

Real-time monitoring (Class View)

Teachers can view the progress of all students' work in real time on one screen.
You can edit assignments or provide immediate feedback even while students are working, allowing you to intervene and provide assistance in a timely manner.

AI-based evaluation and grading

With the AI Auto-Grading function, you can set the answer key for multiple choice and short answer questions and they will be graded automatically.
AI analyzes student responses and displays dashboards (Insights) that provide information on overall class understanding, areas of weakness, and individual achievement.
There's also a feature where you can upload existing PDF worksheets and the AI will automatically convert them into gradeable assessments.

Accessibility features

Built-in text-to-speech, voice typing, subtitles, dyslexia-friendly fonts, dark mode, and more ensure equal access for special education and multicultural students.

Feature Control

Teachers can selectively turn on and off tools for students (e.g., block copy and paste, allow only certain tools), allowing them to control student activity to suit the purpose of the lesson.
