How to Use Padlet Sandbox (Video)

How to create a sandbox
1.
Go to Dashboard
Log in to your dashboard.
2.
Click the make button
Click the 'Make' button at the top of the dashboard.
3.
Select an empty sandbox
From the options that appear, click ‘Empty Sandbox’.
This process allows you to create a new, empty sandbox.
How to add a card
1.
Use the side panel
Click the Plus Button: Go to the side panel and click the Plus (+) button.
2.
Click the three dots next to the existing card
Three-dot menu: Click the three-dot icon next to an existing card.
Select Location: You can choose where you want to add the card (Top or Bottom).
This video briefly explains two ways to add cards to your sandbox.
How to change card background
1.
Open the side panel
Go to the side panel of the card.
2.
Click the three dots icon
Click the three dots icon (⋮) next to the card.
3.
Select Change Background
In the menu that appears, click “Change Background.”
4.
Select background
You can choose from existing backgrounds or add your own custom background.
This process allows you to easily change the background of your card.
To add a picture, follow these steps:
1.
Open the Tools panel: Go to the Tools panel.
2.
Select Draw: Click "Draw".
3.
Choose a pen or highlighter: Choose between a pen or highlighter.
4.
Color Selection: Choose the color you want.
5.
Add Picture: Add a picture to the card.
Add text to the sandbox
Key Steps
1.
Access the tools panel
Go to the Tools panel.
2.
Select text
Click the 'Text' option.
3.
Color selection
Choose the color you want.
4.
Create a text box
Click and drag on the card to create a text box.
5.
Enter text
Enter the desired text in the generated text box.
6.
Complete
Click outside the text box to complete the action.
Add a sticky note
1.
Open the tools panel
Go to the Tools panel.
2.
Select a note
Click on 'Notes'.
3.
Choose a color
Choose the color you want.
4.
Add notes to a card
Click on a note of the selected color to add it to the card.
5.
Add to existing notes
You can add another note next to an existing note by clicking the dot on either side of it.
Alternatively, you can click and drag the point to place another note wherever you want.
This way you can easily add and manage sticky notes!
How to add shapes
Here's a step-by-step guide on how to add a shape.
1.
Open the Tools panel
Go to the Tools panel.
2.
Select shape
Click Rectangle.
3.
Select color and fill
Choose the color and fill you want.
4.
Create a shape
Click and drag on the card to create a shape.
5.
Add text
Click on the shape you created to add text.
You can add shapes to your card by following the steps above.
How to add attachments
1.
Open the Tools panel
At the beginning of the video, open the Tools panel and click the Attachments button.
2.
Select attachment options
You can choose from a variety of attachment options:- Camera
Video recorder
AI features
Image Search
3.
Upload attachments
When you select an attachment, the file will be automatically uploaded to the sandbox.
How to share a sandbox
Step-by-step instructions on how to share your sandbox via link or QR code.
1.
Open the sharing panel
Open the Sharing panel under the Links section.
2.
Copy link
Click the Copy link to clipboard button.
Share your sandbox by pasting the copied link wherever you want.
3.
Share QR Code
Sandbox is also supported on iOS and Android devices.
To share with a QR code, click Get QR code.
How to use QR codes
You can share your sandbox by projecting the generated QR code to a live audience, or by downloading it and uploading it anywhere.
How to link objects between cards
Step-by-step instructions on how to link objects to other cards.
1.
Activate selection mode
Activates Select Mode.
2.
Select Object
Click the object you want to link.
3.
Click the link icon
Click the link icon to start the linking process.
4.
Select Card
Select the card to which you want to link the object.
5.
Explore linked cards in play mode
Now when you click on an object in play mode, you can navigate to its associated card.
By following these steps you can easily link objects to other cards.
How to clone a sandbox:
1.
Open the sandbox.
2.
Click the "Remake" button.
3.
Set the title to "Remake a sandbox".
4.
Determines whether to copy the background and objects.
5.
Choose whether to copy people.
6.
Click “Remake” to create a copy.
To use the Align Snap feature, follow these steps:
1.
Open Padlet Actions Menu: Opens the Padlet's actions menu.
2.
Enable alignment snapping: Click “Enable alignment snapping”.
3.
Precise Alignment: You can now align objects more precisely.
To use the laser pointer, follow these steps:
1.
Open the Tools panel: Go to the Tools panel.
2.
Select a pointer: Click “Pointer”.
3.
Cursor Drag: Click and drag the cursor to display the laser pointer. - The laser pointer will appear on everyone's screen.
To erase a drawing, follow these steps:
1.
Open the Tools panel: Go to the Tools panel.
2.
Select Draw: Click "Draw".
3.
Select the eraser: Click “Eraser”.
4.
Erase a picture: Click and drag over the picture you want to erase.
If you created a sandbox or have editing permissions, you can erase all the images.
Otherwise, you can only erase your own drawing.
To upload a file, follow these steps:
1.
Open the Tools panel: Go to the Tools panel.
2.
Select Upload: Click "Upload".
3.
Select File: Select the file you want to upload.
To arrange objects in a sandbox, follow these steps:
1.
Enter Selection Mode: Switches to selection mode.
2.
Select and drag objects: Click and drag the objects you want to arrange.
3.
Position an object: Click three points or right-click an object and select the Send in Front or Behind Other Objects option.
To edit an object, follow these steps:
1.
Enter Selection Mode: Switches to selection mode.
2.
Select an object: Click the object you want to edit.
3.
Use the menu: Use the menu to change the color, fill, and shape of an object.
4.
Resize: Click and drag an edge or corner of an object to resize it.
5.
Edit text: Double-click text to edit it.
To delete an object, follow these steps:
1.
Enter Selection Mode: Switches to selection mode.
2.
Select objects: Click the objects you want to delete.
3.
To delete: - Click the Delete button, or
Click on the three dots and select "Delete".
To hide your collaborator's cursor and name, follow these steps:
1.
Open Settings panel: Go to the Settings panel.
2.
Find your collaboration settings: Go to the “Collaboration” section.
3.
Turn off the cursor: Turn off the "Cursors" option.
Now you can collaborate without having to see everyone's cursor.
To manage your text and media uploads, follow these steps:
1.
Open Settings panel: Go to the Settings panel.
2.
Find your content settings: Go to the “Content” section.
3.
Moderation Settings: Go to “Moderation” and open the drop-down menu.
4.
Select Manual Approval: Select “Manual” to manually approve all text and media uploads.
5.
Manage Pending Posts: When you see a pending post, select “Approve” or “Reject” to manage the post.
Only approved posts will be visible to all visitors.
To prevent others from cloning your sandbox, follow these steps:
1.
Open Settings panel: Go to the Settings panel.
2.
Find your content settings: Go to the “Content” section.
3.
Remake Settings: Go to “Remakes” and open the drop-down menu.
4.
Select Admin Only: Select "Admins only".
Now only you and invited admins can clone sandboxes.
To anchor an object, follow these steps:
1.
Enter Selection Mode: Switches to selection mode.
2.
Select an object: Click the object you want to anchor.
3.
Open the menu: Click the three dots to open the menu.
4.
Fixed selection: Click “Freeze”.
The object can no longer be moved, edited, or deleted, and cannot be changed without being released.
To enter play mode, follow these steps:
1.
Click the Play Button: Click “Play” at the top.
2.
Navigation: Use the arrows at the bottom or the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate.
3.
Click on an object: You can click on an object, including objects that are connected to other objects.
You can now interact with the sandbox without moving or editing objects.
To share a sandbox as a play link, follow these steps:
1.
Open the Share panel: Opens the "Share" panel below the link.
2.
Copy play link: Click "Copy playlink to clipboard".
You can now share links to sandboxes that open in play mode.
