What are Redmenta's AI Chat task types? How can I edit a chat task type?

Learn about Redmenta's chat task types! Here we've summarized everything you need to know to edit this type of task.
Artificial intelligence has many potential applications within Redmenta, helping students master the curriculum and making the learning process more efficient without teachers having to spend hours preparing a single worksheet.
In Redmenta, you will find several features that use artificial intelligence (AI). For example, there is a task or worksheet generator, and there are also task types that are specific to AI.
It is important to note that each message exchange in the AI Chat task costs 1 token!

General description of the chat task types:
The Chat Assignment type allows students to play, learn, practice, or gather information needed for independent study or problem solving while having fun chatting with AI.
There are many versions of chat. So there are modern versions of classic games like word association, role play, who's who, and hangman, and there are even AI chats for casual conversation in worksheets. For example, you can use them to collect information related to an essay assignment.
Start editing this assignment type by entering the assignment instructions. Here, you can specify exactly what the student is doing, what kind of game/conversation they will have with the AI chat. You can write a welcome message and decide whether the AI or the student will have the last word.
Free conversation
Free conversation is a type of chat task where students can freely talk to the AI. It is a perfect way to collect information. Since the number of messages that can be sent is limited (20), students must learn to ask appropriate questions to obtain as much useful information as possible for writing an essay or creating a video presentation. This allows students to master the course more effectively as they collect data based on their own logic. When checking the assignment, you can immediately reflect on and evaluate this process and thinking. Aspects to consider here are whether the student requested useful and relevant quality information from the AI, whether the question was logical, and whether the student understood the connection between the question and the answer received.
When editing a free conversation, enter instructions, scores, and select this element in chat mode. It is recommended that the instructions specify what topic the student should ask about, what information is needed, and why. For example: Talk to AI to get information about Christopher Columbus! Based on the information collected, write a 150-word essay discussing the most important events in his life in the next assignment.
It would also be a good idea to emphasize in your instructions that students can only use the chat to gather information and not to ask for solutions to related assignments.
Match the characters
Guessing a Person is another version of the chat task type, where the AI can be set to respond on behalf of a specific person. The student solving the task does not know the identity of the person they are talking to, and the goal is simply to figure out who they are talking to. In this exercise, there are many different figures to choose from, such as historical figures, scientists, poets, and writers. Since the number of messages exchanged is limited (20), the student must strategically ask questions to eventually find the correct answer. Initially, the AI provides two hints, and if the task is deemed too difficult, it can provide additional information in the instructions to help the student find the correct answer.
To edit the character guess, enter instructions, scores, and a topic (e.g. historical figure). It is recommended that the topic be mentioned in the instructions so that students can ask questions within the given category. For example: Guess the identity of the historical figure presented while talking to the AI. The AI will initially give you two hints, and your goal is to figure out this person with as few questions as possible.
This chat task is primarily for practice and fun. Playful tasks can help keep students interested as they learn how AI works, which is becoming an increasingly inevitable part of our everyday lives. Whether it’s gathering information or giving instructions, there are essential skills for using AI that should be taught from an early age so that students can use the technology’s benefits effectively and ethically in the future.
When editing an assignment, enter instructions, points, select the character matching element in chat mode, and enter a topic. When grading, consider whether the person solving the assignment figured out the given character, and if so, how many attempts it took to solve the assignment.
Custom prompts
The chat task type also features a custom prompt chat mode, where you can give the AI precise instructions on what character to assume and what style and tone to use when answering. For example, you can tell the AI to pretend to be a mad scientist and explorer living in the year 2100, and to be a bit annoyed but willing to answer questions.
This type of assignment is a great way to get inspiration and creative ideas. It allows students to get inspiration by asking relevant questions interactively. It is also great to combine this assignment with other assignments. For example, it can be a great help in the inspiration phase of an essay, or it can provide ideas for forming a specific role, and then having to act out that role in a later video assignment.
To edit an assignment, enter instructions, points, select a custom prompt item in chat mode, and give the AI specific instructions on how to respond to the person solving the assignment.
When giving instructions, you should formulate the task precisely. Here, it is good to clarify who the task solver will talk to (what role will the AI play), the purpose of the conversation, and what information will help solve the task later. For example: You will now talk to a mad scientist living in the year 2100. Learn as much as you can about the technologies used in the future! Based on the information provided by the scientist, you will have to create a creative video summary of the 2100s in the next task.
When evaluating, the logical connection of the questions, the amount and quality of information obtained should be taken into account. It is also important to note that the message exchange is limited, and students are allowed to write a total of 20 times during the conversation, so they must think carefully about their questions.
Role play
Role-playing assignments allow you to create a custom character to interact with the AI. This assignment allows teachers to define the name, personality, and backstory of the role the AI will assume. Once the character is set, the AI will have a conversation with the student from that character’s perspective, creating a unique and engaging learning experience.
For example, you could create a character like Harry Potter , a wizard studying at Hogwarts. You could describe him as bold, adventurous, and a great friend. A student could “interview” Harry Potter, asking him questions about Hogwarts and how he found out he was a wizard. The AI would respond based on the character’s traits, making the conversation both educational and fun.
This type of assignment is great for stimulating creativity and engaging students in a more interactive way. Students can ask questions related to their learning to the characters or explore new ideas to get inspiration for their projects or assignments. It’s also a great way to encourage critical thinking as students learn how to interact with different personas and perspectives.
To set up a role-playing task, simply enter the name of the character and define their characteristics. After setting up the task, students can interact with the AI, asking the character questions or asking for advice.
