Give your classes wings with Padlet’s new AI features
https://youtu.be/mXBcITVc32s?si=hWxzN6CdcPX_b6PI • Stimulate students’ creativity with AI image generation tools • Quickly create entire Padlet boards with AI • Easily modify and expand existing boards with AI assistants • Add audio content with text-to-speech functionality • Create a safe learning environment with AI-based automatic moderation AI Enters the Classroom As the use of digital tools in education becomes increasingly important, Padlet is attracting attention by introducing new AI features. These features, introduced in a recent Padlet session, offer exciting possibilities to drastically reduce teachers’ lesson preparation time and increase student engagement. Turning imagination into reality: AI image generation tools The most notable feature is the AI image generation tool. Students can input prompts to create images, which can simultaneously foster creative thinking and understanding of AI. For example, in a grammar class, if AI generates images that match the sentences students create, boring grammar learning can be turned into a fun activity. Revolutionizing Class Preparation: Creating AI Boards Another powerful feature is the ability to use AI to generate entire Padlet boards. Teachers input a topic and grade level, and AI quickly creates a board with relevant content, videos, discussion questions, and more. This can drastically reduce lesson preparation time and make it easier to access a variety of materials. For example, if you request “educational videos about rainforests around the world” for a science class, AI will create a board with relevant videos and discussion questions. Assistant Teacher, AI Assistant AI assistants are also useful when editing or extending existing boards. You can conveniently ask the AI to do things like add more posts to the board or change settings. Text-to-speech functionality makes it easy to add audio content, supporting a variety of learning styles. Safety and Control: Designed for Teachers Most of these AI features in Padlet are available only to teacher accounts, giving teachers control over their educational use. Students can only use the AI image creation tool, but even this can be restricted by teachers through settings. AI-based automatic moderation can also be used to censor student posts to create a safe learning environment. AI training starting for free These features are available on Padlet’s free account, but are limited to three boards. A subscription is required to use more boards. Padlet hopes that these AI tools will help students develop the ability to critically understand and utilize AI. Tools for Future Education In conclusion, Padlet’s new AI features seem like powerful tools that can simultaneously increase the efficiency and fun of education. However, in order to effectively utilize these tools, teacher guidance and critical thinking are essential. It will be important to verify the information provided by AI and discuss the pros and cons of AI with students. I look forward to seeing how these new possibilities provided by Padlet will be utilized and developed in the educational field in the future.
