[Global education project running around the world - waiting for teachers and elementary schools to participate]
This post started when I learned about Matt Jessop's Global Chalkboard project through the international educator network . I was mentioned as an educator in Korea and asked to participate, and I was moved by the idea and potential of this project, so I decided to write this post to share it with teachers. Matt Jessop and his colleagues have already been working with teachers in many countries to implement new ways of teaching. I am introducing this project because I think it can provide meaningful experiences for elementary schools and teachers in Korea as well. What is Global Chalkboard? Global Chalkboard is a unique educational project that brings together primary schools and teachers from around the world. The project is centered around Crosthwaite Primary School in the Lake District of England , and is a platform for sharing creative and engaging learning activities that take place in schools around the world each week. Highlights of the project Hear from students : Students present their projects, what they learned, and what they discovered. This allows them to feel proud of what they have done and to have a voice on the global stage. Explore different learning methods : Each country's schools have their own unique teaching methods. For example, some schools use cutting-edge technology in their classes, while others use outdoor activities or art activities to guide learning. These different methods can be shared and learned from each other. Connect with the world : Beyond simply sharing information, Global Chalkboard provides an opportunity for schools and students around the world to connect with each other, allowing students to understand the ideas and cultures of their peers in other countries and experience a wider world. Why is Global Chalkboard special? Matt Jessop is an education professional who has been providing creative and practical learning experiences to students at Crosthwaite Primary School for 13 years. He came up with the ingenious idea of a 24-hour continuous learning system using time zones . Collaboration across time zones : This is a method where one school's project is taken over and developed by the next school, following the time zones in the order of Asia/Oceania → Europe → America. Continuous learning : Learning continues without stopping, as projects that end in one location continue in another country. Respect for Diversity : We respect each country's unique educational approach and cultural background, and inspire each other. What Teachers and Elementary Schools Can Gain Global Chalkboard is a great project for elementary school teachers and schools to get involved in, as it gives students the opportunity to take charge of their own learning and grow within a global network. Making student voices heard around the world : Students can showcase their passions and achievements on a global stage. Learn about educational experiences from other countries : Learn how teachers and schools around the world are teaching. Build a global network : Collaborate with teachers from all over the world and share new ideas. Make Your School's Name Known : This is your chance to share your school's unique educational approach with the world.
