How do I edit a scale job type? Is there a scale job in Redmenta?
Are you curious about how to create a scaling job in Redmenta? Find out how to edit it here! A frequently used question type in surveys is the so-called scale. Redmenta is primarily designed for editing and compiling worksheets, but it is also suitable for creating simple surveys. This may lead to the need for scale questions, but this question type is not currently available in Redmenta.
Why is that?
The scale problem can be easily replaced by a multiple choice problem, which is a currently available problem type. Editing this problem is very simple, whether you use it in its traditional form or edit it as a scale problem.
Below we've detailed the process of creating a scale problem. Check out the step-by-step editing process:
1.
Select the multiple choice question type and provide instructions. If the scale items are numeric, be sure to include in your instructions what the endpoints of the scale mean (e.g., How typical is the following statement: I like going to the movies. 1 means "not at all" and 5 means "very much").
2.
Assign a scale item to each response. Items can be text (e.g., never, sometimes, often, always) or numbers (e.g., 1,2,3,4,5).
3.
It is important that the elements of the scale appear in a fixed order. If you do not want the answers to be mixed up, uncheck the box next to "Show answers in random order." This will change the order you set, so that the answers appear in the order you entered them when editing.
4.
In the scale question type, all answers are good solutions because the test taker chooses the explanation that best fits them. To allow the system to accept any answer as a good solution, switch the green check mark next to each possible answer.
5.
Many scale questions are subjective and generally unscored (they are not knowledge tests), so it is recommended that you set the score to 0.
6.
Since scales generally expect a single clear answer, you should set the number of possible answers to 1. This will prevent the test taker from marking more than one or all of the answers.
With these few simple steps, you can easily create scale problems in Redmenta. Use them to get feedback and comments, and turn multiple choice question types into scale problems to ask the questions that matter most!
