How do the assignment instructions entry and formula editor work?

The first step in editing an assignment is to enter instructions. Find out what options you have for entering instructions!
Always enter instructions for your assignment when editing it! You cannot save your assignment without instructions.
When entering instructions, you can choose between two editing modes:
1.
You can use the equation editor to add scientific equations to your assignment instructions.
2.
For simple text, you can use a regular editor.
You can switch between the two modes using the slider above the instruction input field! (The answer may also be an equation, in which case you can use a similar slider to switch from a plain text editor to an equation editor when entering the answer to your assignment.)
