Mizou answers your questions
From July 10th to 12th, I participated in the event “Adding Color to Classes through EduTech,” hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Education Research Information Center and Running Spark. Many teachers visited us over the three days and gave us various opinions and feedback. I'd like to answer some of those questions. Suggestions It is expected that students will giggle and metacognition will shift as they ask strange questions. We need to find a way to prevent this. → The advantage of Mizou is that, unlike other chatbot services, teachers can check if students are talking to the chatbot with a delay of about 1-2 seconds. This can be prevented through monitoring. Or, you can order the Rule not to have off-topic conversations. I don't know because I haven't used it properly, but I'm worried that the results may not reflect the individual characteristics of each special needs student. -This is an area that Mizou is also working on. We are working to make it convenient for special needs students as well. Improvements are needed to accommodate all existing learning materials (text, images, videos, audio, etc.). → Mizou is still in development, and images will be supported soon. For videos and audio sources, Mizou will be able to support them as well when Claude of OpenAI's GPT Anthropic provides support. This is because Mizou uses the AI API. EdTech Utilization Plan When using AI in class, we need to think about how students will use it (and the risk of not knowing where and how it will go). → As mentioned above, this section allows teachers to check students’ conversations in real time. There is an inconvenience of having to obtain parental consent, etc. because the manufacturer has set an age limit for using ChatGPT. → Mizou is using the GPT API, but students can use it without logging in. Of course, those under 13 years old must obtain consent for personal information. This is in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act. Other comments I'm curious as to how it differs from the chatbot provided by Rutton. →Luton is also a great chatbot and uses the GPT API. The difference is Mizou allows teachers to monitor all conversations students have with chatbots. Mizou complies with children’s privacy laws such as COPPA, FERPA, and GDPR. Mizou allows teachers to manage all chatbots Mizou allows students to access the chatbot without logging in. It would be nice to have clear guidance on whether or not AI platforms are acceptable for elementary school students. → This part is included in the Mizou website terms of use, but we will make sure to expose it in Korea as well.
