Key points

Text layers should be on the top layer.

Background elements should be on the bottom.

How to open the layers panel

Go to Main menu > Show layers to toggle on the layer panel. You can drag and drop objects to reorder them.

Text layers on top

5.1 Text layers, or layers that the user needs to edit often, should always be on the top layer.

Exceptions: if text is intentionally part of the background, if elements are intentionally above text.

Place text layers on top of all elements

Do not place text layers under elements

Exceptions: if you want to add depth to your design, you can intentionally place elements in front of text.

5.2 Element and image layers should be placed behind text.

Exceptions: if elements are intentionally above text.

You can also lock certain elements to prevent them from moving around.

5.3 There should be no unecessary layers or objects hidden in the bottom layers of your design.

Don't forget to delete unused layers. Having extra layers can slow the loading speed of your template.

Ensure only essential layers remain in your design.

Remove elements hidden in your design, such as lines or shapes.
