Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the LORD guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.
Unless the LORD guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.
It is in vain that you rise up early and go to bed late, eating the bread of sorrow.
Therefore the Lord gives sleep to those he loves.
Behold, children are an heritage of the LORD.
The fruit of the womb is his reward.
Children of the young are like arrows in the hands of a warrior.
Blessed is he who has his quiver full of these.
(All together) They will not be put to shame when they speak with their enemies in the gate (1-5)
