Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness; for you have relieved me in my distress.

Have mercy on me and hear my prayer.

How long, you people, will you change my glory into dishonor?

Do you love vain things and seek lies?

Know that the Lord has chosen the godly for himself.

When I call to him, the Lord will hear.

Tremble, and do not sin; commune in your hearts on your beds, and be silent.

Offer sacrifices of righteousness and trust in the LORD.

Many people say, “Who will show us good?”

Lift up your face, O LORD, and let it shine upon us.

The joy that the Lord has placed in my heart

More than when their grain and new wine abounded.

I will lie down and sleep in peace.

It is you alone, O LORD, who maketh me dwell in safety (1-8)
