Hear, O my people, and I will speak; I will testify against you, O Israel: I am God, even your God.
I will not rebuke you for your sacrifices, for your burnt offering is always before Me.
I will not take a bull from your house or a male goat from your pens.
For the beasts of the forest and the cattle on the mountains are all mine.
I know all the birds of the mountains, and the beasts of the field are mine.
If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world and all that is in it are mine.
Shall I eat the flesh of bulls and drink the blood of goats?
Offer to God your sacrifices with thanksgiving, and fulfill your vows to the Most High.

Call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will glorify me (7-15)
