Whenever a new post is uploaded to the SlashPage channel, a notification message is sent to the desired Telegram chat room.
Telegram connection
In the edit mode of the channel you want to link to Telegram, click Link External Services in the page menu on the right side of the screen.
In the Connections section, click Connect to Telegram .
A window will appear asking you to enter your Telegram bot token, as shown below.
Get Telegram Bot Token
To create a bot that will send notifications to your Telegram chat room, search for BotFather and click on it.
After pressing Start , type /newbot to create a new bot.
Set the bot's name and username .
Name: The name of the bot as it appears in the chat room (e.g. SlashPage community bot)
Username: A unique ID that your bot will have in Telegram (e.g. slashpage_community_bot)
When a bot is created, a bot token is automatically issued. Copy the token and save it separately.
Add a bot to your chat room
When in a group
Go to the settings of the Telegram group you want to receive notifications from and tap Add members .
Enter the username of the bot you created and add the bot as a member.
When it's a channel
Go to the settings of the Telegram channel you want to receive notifications from, then tap Admin > Add Admin .
Enter the username of the bot you created and add the bot as an administrator.
Complete the connection
Go back to SlashPage, enter the bot token you copied, and click Next .
What if you don't remember your bot token?
You can check your token by clicking API Token in the chat with BotFather on Telegram .
Set connection name
In the Connection Settings window, enter a name to distinguish between multiple connections.
Specify Telegram chat rooms to receive notifications
Select the chat room you want.
What if the chat room you want to connect to isn't listed?
After confirming that the bot has been successfully added to the Telegram chat room, press Refresh .
Customize notification messages
You can check the default notification message format and edit it yourself.
Click + to select the data to include in your message, and it will be added to the input field. For a natural message, type the desired text between the data and click Save .
Check the results
Once the connection is complete, it will appear in the connection list. You can disable each connection, change its settings, or delete it.
When a new post is uploaded to the linked SlashPage channel, you will receive a notification message in the Telegram chat room as shown below.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Can I send notifications from the same SlashPage channel to multiple Telegram chat rooms?
A. You can. However, since one connection connects one SlashPage channel and one Telegram chat room, you will need to create a new connection for each chat room.
