概要
本論文では、さまざまなロボット形態でのトレーニングを通じて、新しいロボット形態の一般化性能を向上させる「Embodiment scaling laws」を研究します。約1,000個の異なる形状のロボットを作成し、それらのサブセットを使用してポリシーを学習した結果、訓練されたロボット型の数が増えるにつれて、新しいロボット型の一般化性能が向上することを確認しました。これは、従来のデータ量増加方式よりも効果的な一般化を可能にすることを示している。具体的には、データセット全体で訓練された最高のパフォーマンスポリシーは、シミュレーションと実際のロボット(Unitree Go2とH1を含む)で新しいロボットフォームのゼロショット遷移学習を正常に実行しました。この研究は、適応制御、形態共同設計など、さまざまな分野に適用可能性を提示し、一般的に実装された知能(general embodied intelligence)の一歩を踏み出す研究です。
