Hi there, i keep getting different issues with security certificates on my website elementfreediving.com. A few weeks ago it was working at both https://elementfreediving.com as well as https://www.elementfreediving.com, now only latter is working. Did something change? I need both to be working and to be stable as this is a business. Please help or let me know what i need to do to get both working again without a security notice.

@Iain, I know what the problem is!!!

Redirect elementfreediving.com to www.elementfreediving.com at your domain provider.

@Iain I'm going to go into a little more detail because this is a security certificate issue on a business domain, and I don't want you to worry about something you don't know about.💕
SlashPage allow sites created with SlashPage to point to https:// (a secure protocol). In order to do that, the SlashPage must have a security certificate for the SlashPage site domain. The problem was that the SlashPage only held a security certificate for www.elementfreediving.com.
I know this is a bit long, but I hope this helps resolve your issue.
If you have any more questions, please feel free to talk to us again! 🙂

Hi Elly, thanks for the feedback. So i have the redirect added on my provider (namecheap). I'm still getting the issue but perhaps it just needs some time to update. I will check back in tomorrow to see if it's working - appreciate your help.

Hi @Iain !
It seems like you’re facing an issue with HTTPS redirection. From what I found on Reddit, Namecheap doesn’t support URL redirection for HTTPS. You can check out this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/NameCheap/comments/motl8n/redirecting_from_https_does_not_work/. They mention a service called domain-forward.com that could solve the problem, but it seems a bit complicated and potentially costly.
But, No worries, though! we’ll develop an HTTPS redirection feature for you. Just give us a few days. 😊

Thank you for the details i really appreciate you looking into it for me and potentially building something to help. The strange part is it was functional a month or so ago, so i'm not sure what changed. Keep me updated, and thanks for the resources

@Iain I found a better solution! NameCheap supports ALIAS Records. Could you try creating an ALIAS Record with @ as the Host and www.elementfreediving.com as the Target? Here’s a guide that might help: https://www.namecheap.com/support/knowledgebase/article.aspx/10128/2237/how-to-create-an-alias-record/

Sorry about that, my mistake. After testing again, it turns out it’s not supported. On Porkbun, when use URL forwarding, they automatically change the ALIAS to a Porkbun domain and support HTTPS forwarding. (We're using Porkbun) I’ll work on developing a solution quickly to resolve this issue for you!

Any change on this? I'll need to move my site elsewhere due to this issue so hoping to get an ETA. I appreciate the team looking into a fix

Hi @Iain . I'm excited to share great news! you can use both your root domain and www. sub domain now.
To activate this update:
1.
Disconnect your custom domain.
2.
Reconnect it.
3.
Add an A record to your DNS
That's all you need to do!
