How do you like the newly updated 'Notion Sites'? It's definitely useful for those who have embedded various external services. However, as a free plan user, I found many features locked behind the PLUS plan, which was a bit disappointing. 🥲 I also wished for more customization options. Actually, those features were already available in SlashPage (and for free!). Let's compare creating a website with Notion and SlashPage. If you found the recent Notion update a little disappointing , you'll find it easier and more customizable to make a website with SlashPage. One-click 'Publish' button Previously, it was a rather complicated to publish to the web. But now you can publish to the web and be found by search engines with a single click. Publish as soon as you create What's easier than clicking a button? Not having to click a button at all. New sites are created to be publicly accessible by default. Light and Dark theme Plus plan users can choose from System and Dark theme in addition to the Light theme.

Prioritize feedback and actively communicate Even after a year, we're still excited every time we get a new user. We've always wanted to address their needs and keep them engaged with our service. To achieve this, we prioritize customer feedback and active communication. As a result, many users have become more engaged and consistently shared their opinions. Here are the three main points we focused on: ✅ Setting up an efficient feedback system ✅ Quickly identifying recurring feedback and prioritizing it for development ✅ Building user trust with continuous updates Choose the right communication tools to improve user satisfaction So how do we communicate effectively? Typically, email or request(feedback) form is the most popular choice. They're easy to set up and familiar to users. Over time, however, it's getting harder to efficiently manage all inquiries, especially when similar questions keep coming in. E-mails can get lost in the shuffle of other messages, making it difficult to respond quickly. It can also be cumbersome to notify a large number of users of new updates via email. These problems can be easily solved with SlashPage! You can create a unique community for your service without a developer where you can add chat channels like bug reports, feature requests, etc. This helps you quickly identify recurrent bugs or frequently requested features. This improves usability, helps set development priorities, and increases user satisfaction! You can have unlimited channels and posts, and you can customize the logo, text, and background colors to match your service’s branding. Are you concerned about making the feedback channel public? What are 'Points'? 🪙 Points on Product Hunt are also called Kitty Coins and are considered similar to Reddit's Karma. Depending on the points, you can receive gold🥇, silver🥈, or bronze🥉 medals, which are displayed next to the score on the profile. In our experience, we received a bronze medal when the score exceeded 100 points and a silver medal when it exceeded 500 points. Experienced users say that all votes are not equal: votes from someone with higher points carries more value than those from somebody with less points. Since points increase based on Product Hunt activities, having a high score might give the impression of being more active and reputable. However, Product Hunt doesn't explicitly explain how to earn points: "You can earn points by actively contributing across Product Hunt. Contributing includes: posting products, creating discussions, and engaging in conversations. You'll gain points when other community members upvote, cheer, or in any way appreciate your contribution." by Product Hunt FAQ As we prepared for our Product Hunt launch, we were able to accumulate over 500 points, and I'll share tips on how we achieved this: Here are the activities we do every day: 1️⃣ Try out new products at 12:01 AM PST every day and leave reviews and feedback comments. Every day, you can see a list of new products launched that day on the main screen of Product Hunt. 2️⃣ Post discussions on topics that makers or PH community members can relate to. Share any curiosities, difficulties, or experiences you've encountered in the process of building a product or improving an existing one. Sharing stories about topics that IT enthusiasts and makers would enjoy is an excellent choice. 3️⃣ Share my know-how and leave supportive comments in the new discussions. Launching always involves trial-and-error! Sharing your experiences can be incredibly helpful to new makers. So, share your insights, and leave your comments on other posts in the community.

Now that you know why you should launch on Product Hunt, it's time to get to work! There are tons of makers and tech lovers on Product Hunt, and we'll show you how to better showcase your product and get to know ProductHunt members. Setting up your profile Some people miss out on opportunities because they have no contact info. Add links to your Twitter, LinkedIn, email, personal website, or any other contact information to your profile, along with a brief introduction of yourself. Points, Badges, and Streaks Badges depend on the number of points you have earned, with badges appearing next to your username starting at 101 points. Streaks also show rankings of who has been the most active on ProductHunt. Since these two factors display how engaged a user is, it's important to manage them. Respond to new product launches and engage with people As many people emphasize, this seems to be the best way to build influence and reputation in the community. Monitor the products that are being released daily and encourage each other! Also, since this community is made up of CEOs, developers, designers, and others in similar role, it's the optimal place to share your voice or concerns. Upload a teaser before the launch If you have an approximate release date, make a teaser! People who hit Notify me can receive a notification when the product is launched. From 7 days before the release date, your product may be visible in the Coming Soon tab. Find similar services on ProductHunt Browse or search the category your product is in (Nocode, Webapp, Productivity, etc.) to find similar products. You can get two things from this: you can see how people react to similar services and what questions they have, and you can see how other makers are presenting their products, which is really important! Introduce your product, gather first 1~1,000 users, and get valuable feedback. We launched for the first time last year and learned a lot from various posts on how to launch on Product Hunt successfully. I'll provide detailed tips we gathered not only from those posts but also from our trial and error. If you've decided to launch, follow the steps below. Define the goals for launching on Product Hunt Want to find initial users for your product? You can find potential users who may be interested in your product based on the interests listed in their profiles or those who have left reviews for similar products. There are also add-on services like Upvote-bell that can help you introduce your product to potential users. Are you collecting diverse feedback? You can gather feedback by posting on the discussion forum before launching and by receiving reviews after launch. As you may know, there are numerous experts and early adopters in ProductHunt who are always open to sharing opinions. I also recommend using hashtags like #buildinpublic or #buildinginpublic on social media to share the product development process. Do you want the "Product of the day" title? Yes, receiving the Product of the day/week/month badge is a great honor. As far as I know, there is less competition on weekends than on weekdays, and the Product of the week is chosen from products launched from Monday to Sunday. Many of you may already know... SlashPage was recently nominated as the Best NoCode Tool of the Year in the Golden Kitty Awards on Product Hunt. Unfortunately, we didn't get selected as the No-Code Tool of the Year. 🥲 While votes were live, we shared the news (that we got nominated) with our fans through the website banner and email. The anticipation of the results kept me up the night before the announcement. However, considering the strong contenders, it was a difficult to win as a relatively new service. But! We noticed a surprising achievement. Our team member, @elly was chosen as the Community Member of the Year! This is based on Product Hunt's criteria rather than votes, making it much more meaningful. If I were to guess how Elly got selected, it might be because: There were numerous comments and reviews written by bots, but she wrote each one herself. While preparing for the launch, Elly actively asked questions to seasoned community members whenever she sought clarificaiton. Every time a bug was found on ProductHunt, Elly reported it to the moderators. Although our 2023 ended with #1 Product of the Day and #5 Product of the Week & Month, in 2024, we'll strive to win Product of the Year!💪💪💪 We will continue to release new features, and perhaps there's even a SlashPage 2.0 in the works.
