Hello from team HereWeAre :)
Welcome to the official HereWeAre blog. HereWeAre is a space beyond the stage for performing arts professionals around the world.
HereWeAre is a global performing arts community platform that connects artists, audiences, and venues, opening up new stages for creative exchange and discovery.
This time, we joined the 2025 Performing Arts Market in Seoul (PAMS) as the only app startup! We met countless performing arts professionals face-to-face for the first time! ๐
We joined PAMS to build closer communication and deeper connections with performing arts.
Performing Arts Market in Seoul
PAMS is an international event where performing arts professionals and organizations from all over the world gather to explore new collaborations and distribution opportunities.
The 2025 edition was held from October 14 to 18, across Korea's iconic venues

During four days of booth operation, we met an incredible range of people
theatre companies, festival organizers, curators, producers, and artists from both Korea and abroad!
Those sparkling eyes๐โจ of performing arts people
and all the inspiring conversations about what the field truly needsโฆ
Now, shall we step into the world of PAMS?
Our now-familiar commute to PAMS beginsโ๐ต
After checking in with our pre-issued QR code, we received the program booklet, our name card, and the iconic PAMS eco bag! ๐๏ธ
These became our companions throughout the week.
๐ PAMS Orientation
The very first gathering of all participants! ๐๐
The session began with a round of slightly awkward introductions โ
(and we even ran into a director we were supposed to meet later at speed-dating!)
At PAMS, every place is a potential meeting spot, every moment a chance to connect.
This orientation was especially helpful for first-timers,
and it's where we met our new friend, Shai from PAMS Friends!
Here are a few golden tips we learned ๐ก
1๏ธโฃ Make the most of "PAMS Morning"!
There's a shuttle bus for participants, and the 30-minute ride often leads to unexpected encounters with people you've wanted to meet.
2๏ธโฃ Don't skip PAMS Night! (more on that below ๐)
3๏ธโฃ Prepare both a 20-second and a 2-minute self-introduction!
Because at PAMS, anywhere can become a meeting.

๐ค PAMS Salon
๐ฌ Performing Arts in the Age of Multiple Crises: Sustainability and Distribution
The first PAMS Salon offered rich insights into how the performing arts sector can respond to the crises we face today.
One idea that stood out:
Instead of focusing only on export, we should also invite international artists for residencies and support their creation here in Korea.

๐ช PAMS Booth
A vibrant, open space for sharing real information about performances and collaborations!
The booth area was located on the 3rd floor of the National Theater of Korea (Haeoreum Theater),
and this year, over 100 organizations took part.
It felt like a small village buzzing with creativity and possibility. ๐ฅ

Our booth was located at #66, our cozy little home during the fair!
Right next to us was the Hong Kong Arts Development Council,
always buzzing with visitors and creative energy.

The grand opening began with a welcome speech from David Baile, CEO of ISPA (International Society for the Performing Arts).
Where else could you casually chat with the CEO of ISPA over dinner?
That's the magic of PAMS.
