TikTok's parent company, China's ByteDance, has reportedly quietly released four new AI apps recently: Cici AI, Coze, ChitChop, and BagelBell. All of these apps were released in the past three months and have already been downloaded millions of times.
Cici AI, ChitChop, Coze: These three apps are platforms where users can create and share their own chatbots. Each app has the following features:
Cici AI: Provides chatbots with various roles such as virtual characters, women, and boyfriends. According to Google Play Store, it has been downloaded more than 10 million times.
What’s interesting is that ByteDance officially announced that these apps were made using Microsoft Azure licenses and OpenAI’s APIs. It seems that it’s not about where the technology is, but rather an attempt to see if this works as a service company and business.
Recently, ByteDance announced DiffusionGPT, which as the name suggests is a text-to-image generation system based on language models. DiffusionGPT builds a domain-specific ‘Tree-of-Thought’ for various generative models based on prior knowledge. Given an input, LLM analyzes the prompt and uses the ‘Tree-of-Sort’ to select an appropriate model, thereby relaxing input constraints and ensuring excellent performance across a wide range of domains. It also introduces the concept of ‘Advantage Databases’ to enrich the ‘Tree-of-Sort’ with human feedback, thereby matching the model selection process to human preferences.
