네이버와 카카오를 거치면서 대한민국 창업 생태계에서 많은 도움을 받았고, BASS Ventures를 통해 창업 생태계 발전에 기여함으로써 당시의 감사했던 경험에 보답하고자 합니다.
창업은 끝없이 다양하고 어려운 문제해결의 연속과도 같습니다. 저희는 이런 창업가들의 여정에서 단순한 자금적인 지원 뿐만 아니라, 앞서 창업 및 문제해결 과정을 겪었던 경영진의 경험, 역량, 네트워크를 바탕으로 이 시대의 초기 스타트업들에게 실질적인 도움을 드리고 싶습니다.
국내 대기업들이 대한민국의 특정한 발전 단계의 산물이었다면 지금은 바야흐로 스타트업의 시대이고, 초기 창업가들이 우리 시대에 제기된 문제를 우리 시대에 맞는 창의적인 방식으로 해결해나가는 과정에 조금이라도 힘이 되었으면 합니다.
또한, 이러한 저희의 마음이 BASS Ventures나 포트폴리오사에만 국한되지 않고, 이 과정에서 만난 더 새롭고 훌륭한 분들이 향후 더 크게 주도하여 영속적으로 도움을 주는 선순환 생태계가 만들어질 수 있길 기원합니다.
Having worked at Naver and Kakao, I received immense support from Korea’s startup ecosystem. Now, through BASS Ventures, I hope to give back by contributing to the growth and development of that very ecosystem that once supported me.
Starting a company is an endless series of complex and difficult problem-solving challenges. At BASS Ventures, we aim to go beyond financial investment by leveraging the experience, expertise, and network of our leadership team—who have firsthand experience in founding companies and overcoming obstacles. Our goal is to provide practical and meaningful support to early-stage startups in this era.
If Korea’s conglomerates were the driving force behind a specific stage of the nation’s development, then today, we are undoubtedly in the era of startups. We hope to play a role—however small—in empowering early-stage founders to tackle the challenges of our time with innovative, era-defining solutions.
Moreover, we aspire for this mindset to extend beyond BASS Ventures and our portfolio companies—so that the brilliant individuals we meet along this journey will take the lead and build a self-sustaining, virtuous ecosystem that continues to support future generations of entrepreneurs.
