Social media platforms such as Instagram, X, and LinkedIn are cool ways to promote your works and communicate with people. Still, there are some prejudices that authors should work offline, with BIC & notes, but we should break the limits and gain abilities to work online.
If your SNS draws attention through your efforts, and, of course, with some luck, you can earn additional income through your SNS. Building your image as friendly can attract potential fans from all over the world.
However, I suggest that you should make sure that your account is "public" and put no limits on DMs. There might be some spam DMs, but at least everyone can access and communicate. It is perfectly worthwhile, like having a Coke with a Big Mac.
