Book Giveaways

Although giving a book for "free" may seem somewhat uneconomical, book giveaways help us deliver our book to readers effectively. We can acquire more reviews and gather potential fans for our work.

What you should keep in mind are "what to offer," "how much to give away," and "where to start the giveaway." We can provide free copies of our work to readers on social media platforms or Goodreads, as well as on Bookbub.

Alternatively, you can print out, for example, the first chapter of your book and distribute it offline. Train stations may be the perfect place for offline giveaways, as your book can provide people with a chance to pass the time during boring moments. Some authors insert their "samples" in best-sellers so that many people can come across them.

Shruti Sharma, inspired by Emma Watson's initiative of planting books in public spaces, decided to promote reading by dropping books on Delhi Metro since 2017. Sharma, along with volunteers called 'book fairies,' schedules book drops by posting photos on social media for followers to find and pass on after reading. Despite a setback during the lockdown, a new method involved asking questions about a book, and the person with the most insights would receive the book at their location. Shruti aims to restart book drops in early 2022, pending pandemic conditions.
