My studio started in 2022 from a simple 1-bit pixel art project, and a fascination with creating a game for the first time. Why the name? Mustard is a familiar, tangy flavor. I wanted to create games that have a sense of familiarity, but with a little something extra. I wanted to incorporate this mentality into my game “Telly the TV.” Creating art for the game turned into learning how to program and develop a game. I taught myself visual scripting using the GDevelop game engine. I created all the art assets with Piskel, sound effects with JFXR, and music with SAGA Synth & Garageband. Since its web release in August 2024, Telly the TV has received over 20K plays, and numerous positive reviews from players. In particular, the game’s 1-bit pixel art aesthetic and outstanding level design has resonated with players. Telly the TV manages to keep gameplay interesting, while using simple mechanics. **Telly the TV is set to be released on Steam on October 25th, 2024.** I’m taking this time to make improvements to the Game’s user interface design, a level select mode, as well as adding a whole new Candy Themed world for Telly to escape from.
