Description
Telly the TV is a throwback action/adventure platformer with a 1-bit style.
You Play as Telly, the living CRT television set, in a scavenger-hunt gone wild. Telly’s been trapped in TV Kingdom by the evil Robo-Queen. Telly’s only hope of surviving is navigating each television show, all while trying to locate five remote-control-keys to escape each episode.
Enter six exciting and quirky worlds while bashing baddies and traversing terrible traps! Collect items to save each TV program, and face-off with the baddies of the Kingdom.

History
I’m Michael, AKA Extra Mustard, a solo game developer based in Orlando, FL. My studio started in 2022 from a simple 1-bit pixel art project, and a fascination with creating a game for the first time.
Why the name? Mustard is a familiar, tangy flavor. I wanted to create games that have a sense of familiarity, but with a little something extra.
I wanted to incorporate this mentality into my game “Telly the TV.” Creating art for the game turned into learning how to program and develop a game. I taught myself visual scripting using the GDevelop game engine. I created all the art assets with Piskel, sound effects with JFXR, and music with SAGA Synth & Garageband.
Since its web release in August 2024, Telly the TV has received over 20K plays, and numerous positive reviews from players. In particular, the game’s 1-bit pixel art aesthetic and outstanding level design has resonated with players. Telly the TV manages to keep gameplay interesting, while using simple mechanics.
Telly the TV is set to be released on Steam on October 25th, 2024. I’m taking this time to make improvements to the Game’s user interface design, a level select mode, as well as adding a whole new Candy Themed world for Telly to escape from. Players can restore order in TV Kingdom with Telly the TV by their side.
