President Joe Biden secured a significant win in the South Carolina Democratic primary, marking the first sanctioned event in the presidential primary calendar. This victory over Rep. Dean Phillips and Marianne Williamson underscores Biden's strong position as the campaign progresses toward what is anticipated to be an extensive and costly general election. Biden's overwhelming support in South Carolina, particularly from Black voters, aimed to quell doubts about Democratic enthusiasm and his appeal to this crucial voter bloc. His campaign's considerable efforts in the state, including multiple visits by Vice President Kamala Harris and over $400,000 spent on advertisements, were geared towards maximizing voter turnout. The triumph in South Carolina is particularly noteworthy as the state was strategically placed at the start of the Democratic nominating process, highlighting the importance of Black voters early on. Despite the predictability of Biden's victory, the campaign did not take any chances, investing heavily to ensure a strong showing. The Republican primary in South Carolina, where former President Donald Trump is the frontrunner, is set to follow on February 24. Biden's decisive win in South Carolina solidifies his standing within the Democratic Party and sets a confident tone for the forthcoming electoral challenges.

President Joe Biden has secured a victory in the Nevada Democratic primary, as projected by the AP. This win, coming shortly after his triumph in South Carolina, further solidifies his path towards the Democratic nomination. Biden's success in Nevada, a crucial battleground state for the upcoming general election, was anticipated given his minimal opposition from Marianne Williamson. During a campaign event in North Las Vegas, Biden criticized former President Trump and his supporters for dividing the country. Despite a narrow victory margin in Nevada in the 2020 election, Biden's recent win underscores his ongoing campaign efforts. On the Republican side, Donald Trump is expected to dominate Nevada's delegates, with his primary GOP competitor, Nikki Haley, participating in a non-delegate awarding primary contest.
