# Content Management

Can I write private posts?

There isn’t a specific option to mark posts as private, but you can do the following:

- To make it visible only to you:

    - Create a private channel or page

If you have editor permissions or higher, you can create channels or pages under the `Private` menu in the sidebar, making them invisible to other members. However, if you drag them to a public section in the sidebar, they will become visible to others.

- To make it visible only to specific members:

    - Set the channel visibility to Restricted**Restricted**

In the page or channel editor, click the `Permissions` menu on the right and set the visibility to `Restricted` . This will make the page or channel visible only to current members.

If you want to limit visibility to only certain members (e.g., admin members), go to the **Members** menu on the right, click `Customize on this page` , and remove all members except the ones you want to keep.

    - Sending a direct message

Click the `Direct Message` button that appears when you click on the other person's profile image to send a message.

_(If you are the site owner, consider adding a button that allows others to send you a message. Simply link the button to the "Send DM to OOO" action.)_

---

Is there a limit on the file size I can upload?

Yes, the maximum upload size is:

- Per file: 20MB (50MB for beta testers)

- Per site: 100MB (1GB for beta testers)

The storage limit includes files such as images, videos, PDFs uploaded through the file attachment block, and files submitted via form channels. However, embedded content like YouTube videos is excluded from this limit.

---

Can I move posts from one channel to another?

Yes, you can. In the channel, click `...` on the post you want to move and select `Move Post` . Choose the channel you'd like to move it to, then click `Next` to finish.

---

Can site visitors sort and filter posts in a channel?

Currently, only members with editor-level permissions or higher (editors, admins, owners) can set sorting and filters.

To allow visitors to organize posts, add "categories" to your posts. Anyone can click a category at the top of the channel to view posts within that category.

---

Can I change the thumbnail preview when sharing a link?

Yes, you can. Click the share icon in the top right corner of the screen on the page you want to share, then select `Edit` on the thumbnail image. You can change the thumbnail image (OG image), title, and description. These preview details will be reflected in search engine results as well.

# Member invitations and permissions

What’s the difference between a subscriber and a member?

Both subscribers and members receive notifications about new posts in a channel, but there are some differences.

| | Subscribers | Members |
| --- | --- | --- |
| How to Add | Visitors click the subscribe button themselves. | Invitation from the site administrator is required. |
| Information Available to Admins | Nickname, subscription date, recent visit date. | Nickname, email, recent visit date. |
| Access to Restricted Channels/Pages | Not allowed. | Allowed if invited to the specific channel/page. |
| Permission Levels | None. | Administrator, Editor, Writer, Viewer. |

[Learn more about members and permissions](https://help.slashpage.com/member-permission-invitation)

---

Can non-logged-in users post in a channel?

Yes. In the editing screen, go to the `Permissions` menu in the right panel and change the post and comment permissions to `Anyone`. This allows all visitors to post, comment, and reacts to posts in the channel without logging in to Slashpage.

Please note that the permission for leaving reactions follows the same setting as the comment writing permission.

---

Why can’t a member with permissions write posts in a channel?

It may be because the channel's post/comment permissions are set higher than the member's level. For example, members with `Writer` permissions can't post in channels set to `Administrator` permissions. Adjust the permissions or contact us if the issue persists.

---

Why do sites I'm invited to keep appearing private?

You need to click the `Accept` button in your notification center or email to complete the invitation process and become a member. Check if you missed any notifications.

---

Can I invite people to view specific channels/pages only?

Yes, you can. While you're in that channel or page, click `Share` in the top right corner of the screen and invite members from the `Member` tab. Members who accept the invitation will only be able to see that channel/page (and of course, if any of your other channels/pages are public, anyone can see them, whether they're a member or not).
