CDy6 (Compound of Designation yellow 6) was discovered from mitotic cell selective dye screening. CDy6 stains lysosome and the fluorescence intensity increases during the mitosis in RPE1, Hela, and U2OS cells. CDy6 is photostable and non-toxic, so the stable lysosome imaging was possible for at least 3 cell division cycle

Lysosomal-Targeted CDy6 Labeling Effectively Visualizes Mitosis in Real-Time Live Imaging RPE1:H2B:GFP cells were stained with CDy6 (0.5 mM), and imaged for 8 hr. The H2B:GFP signal was used as a positive selection marker of cell division. Scalebars, 20 mm.
