Bacon's Sadness

Bacon's work goes beyond the simple depiction of the animal, incorporating deep emotions and striking irony. The artist preserves the pig's body shape while adding human elements to the face, presenting it as an emotional being. In particular, the tears flowing from its eyes express great sadness and resignation, as if this figure already knew its fate and wore an expression of submission.
The title "Bacon" adds an additional, more meaningful dimension to the work. Pork is often associated with food consumed by humans, and "Bacon" symbolizes the end result of that fate. Thus, this work becomes much more than a simple character: it serves as a mirror to the moral contradictions between humans and animals, as well as to our world.
The rough, sweeping lines convey a sense of impulsiveness and primalness, as if attempting to resist fate. However, the pig's curled tail and helpless gaze seem to inevitably accept reality, accentuating the irony and sadness of existence.
This work connects the food that man takes for granted to the emotions that underlie this process, thus posing a weighty question to the viewer: are we only focused on the end result, the "Bacon," or are we able to perceive the emotions and the weight of existence that lie behind this process?
