Google, in collaboration with Samsung and Qualcomm, announced Android XR, an extended reality (XR) platform based on Gemini AI that expands reality through headsets and glasses, enabling new ways to explore, connect, and create.
Android XR supports both headsets (for temporary use) and glasses (for daily use), and is expected to make users' daily lives more convenient through various functions such as Google Maps, translation, and real-time information provision.
Developed in close collaboration with Samsung, Android XR is designed to provide compatibility with a wide range of apps and to bring AI into users’ everyday lives naturally. It will be first introduced in Samsung’s upcoming Project Muhan headset.
