Copilot for Microsoft 365 – Educator Features
Microsoft is introducing educator-focused features to Copilot for Microsoft 365 that support the creation of educational content, alignment of standards, creation of quizzes, and provision of AI feedback. New education extensions will provide guidance and support for educators’ work. With education data integration, Copilot can generate more useful responses, insights, and content based on data from Teams for Education, LMS, and more.

Copilot for Microsoft 365 – Learner Features
Learners can receive personalized activities and support through Copilot’s Learning extension. It also provides interactive practice experiences that assess knowledge based on provided learning content, such as flashcards and interactive chat. This allows learners to better understand specific topics, test their learning, and receive early feedback on their work.

Learning Accelerator Update
Two new Learning Accelerators are being released: Speaker Progress and Math Progress. Speaker Progress helps students improve their presentation skills, while Math Progress supports educators by streamlining the creation, review, and analysis of math exercises. Additionally, the Learning Accelerator creation workflow has been improved to make it easier to get started from Assignment.

Reading Coach standalone app
Microsoft’s free AI-powered Reading Coach provides personalized, engaging reading fluency practice. Encourage students to reach their reading goals and earn rewards with the Reading Coach Summer Reading Quest over the summer. Plus, 10 schools around the world will host free hands-on PD webinars with the Reading Coach team.

Learning Management System Integration
Teams Assignments LTI gives educators and students access to Microsoft Education’s unique capabilities, including Learning Accelerator, Flip Video Assignments, Forms Quizzes, Whiteboard assignments, and AI-powered rubric creation, directly within their LMSs like Schoology and Canvas. This integrates the powerful capabilities of Teams for Education with popular learning platforms.

Teams Updates
The new Microsoft Teams is reimagined and improved with a performance-focused mindset, making it faster, lighter, and more flexible than ever. It also includes the ability to use the Flip video camera in Assignments, improved grading workflows for quiz assignments, and improved rich feedback in Speed Grader to provide more detailed student feedback. Parents can log into Teams with their phone number to access School Connection.

Clipchamp for educators and students
Clipchamp, a video editing tool, is available as an A3 and A5 license in Microsoft 365 Education. Clipchamp makes it easy for educators and students to create engaging videos, regardless of their skill or experience level. This helps develop future-proof skills while improving student engagement and learning outcomes.

Visual Studio Code for Education
In line with Microsoft’s belief that every student should have access to equitable computer science education to prepare them for the future, we’re launching Visual Studio Code for Education to empower the next generation of developers. It’s completely free, available online, and includes web development and Python curricula for educators.
