[25.02.20 - Spanish Today]

Today, I studied two days' worth of study materials from Día03 to Día04.
Today's sentence is 'Yo soy coreano(a)'. It means 'I am Korean.' For men, it should be 'coreano', and for women, it should be 'coreana'.
If you ever travel to a Spanish-speaking country, be sure to memorize it and use it. 😃 'Yo soy coreana!'

[25.02.19 - Spanish Today]

Today, I reviewed words that I had difficulty memorizing among the words I had previously learned.
Today's word is 'éxito'. In Korean, it means success and is pronounced as '엑시또'.
I have always been interested in startups, and one of the most important goals in the startup ecosystem is exit. The word exit itself means 'exit', but for startups, exit can also mean 'success'.
The word forms of 'éxito', meaning success, and 'exit', meaning exit, are so similar that I looked up the etymology of each word and found that both are derived from the Latin word exitus, meaning exit or result.
It was a word that made me think that success is ultimately the process of finding the right exit in the maze called life.

Today, I studied two days' worth of worksheets from Dia01 to Dia02.
Today's word is 'día'. 'día' means day. Here, í indicates that the i should be stressed and pronounced, so in 'dia', the 'di' should be stressed and pronounced.
Unlike English, Spanish has clear rules for pronunciation for each letter. So once you learn the rules, you don't need to memorize the pronunciation separately when memorizing words. If I had to memorize the pronunciation, I would have already given up on learning Spanish. 😂

[25.02.13 - Spanish of the day]

Today, we studied two days' worth of study materials from Basic 11 to Basic 12. Today, we finished the basic unit, and now it's finally time to start the first day's study materials.
Today's sentence is '¡Madre mía!' If we read it directly, it means 'My mother!', but it actually means 'Oh my god!'. The easiest way to understand this sentence is to translate it into Italian, which is 'Mamma mia!'. Koreans often shout 'Mom!' when they are surprised. It's amazing how similarities can be found even when you are on the other side of the world and no matter how different the language is.

[25.02.12 - Spanish of the day]

Today I had time to review the words I had memorized.
Today's word is 'hamburguesa'. As you can guess from the shape of the word, it means hamburger. The reason why hamburger became today's word is because I ate a hamburger for lunch today. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries from the famous Five Guys Gangnam branch. It was a little disappointing that they don't provide peanuts for delivery orders, but the taste lived up to its reputation and the price matched it.🥲
I was trying to translate Five Guys into Spanish, but after thinking about it, I realized that although I know the Spanish word for men, I still don't know a word that can convey the nuance of guys. If I ever find out, I'll edit this post again.

[25.02.10 - Spanish Today]

Today, I studied two days' worth of study materials from Basic 09 to Basic 10.
Today's sentence is '¡Buena suerte!' It means 'Good luck!', 'Good luck!' It is a sentence that combines bueno, which means 'good', and suerte, which means 'luck'. Spanish words have genders, and since suerte is a feminine noun, the adjective bueno that comes before it also changes to the feminine ending -a and is used as buena. It's hard enough just to memorize the meaning of the word, but I have to memorize the gender too... I sincerely hope that Korean will become a global language today as well. : )
To all of you reading this, ¡Buena suerte!

[25.02.07 - Spanish Today]

Today, I studied three days' worth of study materials from Basic 06 to Basic 08.
Today's sentence is 'Ahí vamos.' It is used as a response to '¿Cómo estás?' or 'How are you?' It means 'So so' or 'I'm okay' in English and 'Just like that' in Korean. In fact, the direct translations of ahí and vamos are 'there' and 'go,' but it is said that this sentence is used idiomatically to mean that life is just going as it is. 'Isn't it good if life is just going as it has been?', 'Does life have to go in a better direction?', etc. It is a short sentence but an expression that makes you think a lot.

Today, I studied two days' worth of study materials from Basic 04 to Basic 05.
Today's word is piña. It means pineapple, and the pina in one of the famous cocktails, the pina colada, is this piña. In fact, the pronunciation of piña is piña when translated into Korean, but I think the problem arose because Koreans, who don't know the difference between n and ñ, read it the way they read it in English. From now on, when I go to a cocktail bar, I'll have to order it properly, saying "piña colada."

[25.02.05 - Spanish Today]

I stopped by Yeongpung Bookstore to start studying Spanish again, which I have been doing on and off for the past two years, and bought the first step of . It feels like I have gone back to the days when I studied only sets in the fundamentals of mathematics, and I feel like I am studying the basic pronunciation of Spanish five times, but since the basics are important for anything, I will not be complacent and will start again from the basics.
The Spanish study materials I purchased today contain a total of 84 days' worth of material, but each day's content is very small, so I set a goal of completing at least two days' worth of material per day. Today, I studied three days' worth of material, from Basic 01 to Basic 03.
Of course, there are many pretty and good words, but among the words I memorized today, only caca (poop) and culo (butt) are lingering in my head. I guess it's still too early to become an adult.
