‘Snooping’, the most popular item in Silicon Valley

👍
Artificial intelligence is included, of course, and there is a field called Snooping that is emerging along with artificial intelligence. If you translate it, it becomes something like 'surveillance, wiretapping'. You may think it is a strange story that a startup related to wiretapping and surveillance is emerging in the United States.
Technological advancements and government demands: Silicon Valley companies are developing surveillance and analytics technologies using artificial intelligence, drones, satellite technology, and more. These technologies are meeting the needs of law enforcement and government agencies.
New Growth Opportunities: We are exploring new revenue-generating opportunities outside of our traditional business areas, and government contracts promise long-term, stable revenue.
Concerns about Chinese-made drones: The U.S. government has expressed security concerns about Chinese-made drones, and this presents an opportunity for U.S. companies.
Shifting values in Silicon Valley: A shift away from the libertarian values of the early Internet era toward values that contribute to national security and public safety.
Investor Interest: Venture capitalists and investors are increasingly investing in this space, which will provide funding for technology development.
Representative technology?
Drone technology: Surveillance technology via drones is widely used by police and security agencies. For example, companies such as Skydio and brinc are developing AI-based drones capable of autonomous flight.
Satellite Technology: Satellite imagery is used for surveillance and earth observation, and with the lower launch costs, satellite technology is playing a vital role in surveillance.
Facial recognition software: Facial recognition technology is widely used by law enforcement agencies, raising privacy concerns for citizens.
As companies that deal with snooping items gain attention, there are naturally concerns about privacy invasion and misuse, but what’s interesting is that the state governments aren’t taking any action. There’s even talk in the House of Representatives of advocating for the purpose of law enforcement and surveillance, as an agenda for better public safety and better public services.
