Summation
Karim Lakhani, a professor at Harvard Business School, has studied how AI and machine learning work in the workplace. He argues that AI will lower the cost of cognition, just as the Internet greatly reduced the cost of information transmission.
As the public comes to expect companies to provide seamless experiences and transactions that incorporate AI, leaders must embrace the technology, learn its potential, and develop use cases for their businesses. “Where do you apply your thinking?” says Lakhani of where AI can be applied.
💡
In short, the function of AI can replace simple tasks or some tasks, but it cannot replace the actual organic work ability of humans. Instead, the gap between those who are good at using AI and those who are not will widen significantly. In other words, we should not fear AI, but fear not being able to use AI.
Questions to consider
Cost-effectiveness of AI: How effectively can AI reduce the cost of cognition? What economic benefits can this bring to businesses?
AI and Human Collaboration: If AI doesn’t replace humans, how can AI and humans collaborate to achieve more effective outcomes?
Scope of AI: Where can AI be applied? And how can it change existing work methods or processes?
