In 2020, Guido van Rossum, the father of Python, joined Microsoft. At the time, the creator of the programming language was considered an advisor or a symbolic appointment, but today's Office update shared a very interesting result.
In summary, in the future, you can use data-related libraries and packages (pandas, Matplotlib, scikit-learn, NumPy, SciPy, etc.) in Excel to automate or help with visualization. In the future, you can also see the possibility of creating synergy with Office365.
Microsoft has introduced a public preview of Python in Excel, a feature that combines the best of both worlds for data analysis and visualization. Here are the highlights:
Integration of Python and Excel: Combines Python's powerful data analysis and visualization libraries with the power of Excel, enabling you to integrate Python and Excel analytics within the same Excel grid.
Work seamlessly: Access Python directly from the Excel ribbon to perform advanced data analysis—no installation or setup required.
Collaboration with Anaconda: In collaboration with Anaconda, we provide Python running on Azure, including popular Python libraries such as pandas, statsmodels, Matplotlib, and seaborn.
Easy collaboration: Share your workbooks and Python analyses in tools like Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Outlook, and collaborate seamlessly with colleagues.
Enterprise-grade security: Python in Excel runs on the Microsoft Cloud and provides enterprise-grade security.
Public Preview Released: This feature is being released as a Public Preview in the Beta Channel of the Microsoft 365 Insiders program, first in Excel for Windows.
Future updates are planned: improvements to the editing experience, basic repairs, error behavior, help and documentation, and adjustments to data size and calculation limits.
This update enables users to more effectively analyze and visualize their data by leveraging Python within the familiar environment of Excel.
