Cue is a conversational AI search service provided by Naver. When users ask questions naturally, Cue understands them and searches for and provides the information they want. The interesting point is that while most LLM-based chat-type services that have been released so far do not show the process of producing information or intentionally hide it, Cue shows it step by step.
In practice, when you use Cue, you will see that it uses techniques such as Reasoning, Planning, Tool Usage, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation to achieve the user's search goals and generate reliable answers.
Scenarios that can be done because it is Naver, such as shopping, finding evidence in web documents, or scraping useful information based on map or blog data.
One thing that is unfortunate is that there are many cases where the context is lost. I don't know if it breaks when multi-turns continue beyond a certain amount or if it doesn't refer to the previous results when entering a prompt. However, it shows quite satisfactory results despite this. (When selecting a suggested question, multi-turn works very well, but it is difficult for additional questions.)
If we were to guess the reason, it seems like the UI shows that the questions were asked in one conversation, but in reality, it seems like an issue that occurs because each question is separated into a separate chat. As you can see in the image above, the 3, 2, and 3 from the bottom were each consecutive questions, but you can see that separate chat threads were created. However, considering that it is provided in the form of CBT, it is quite understandable.
CUE certainly has many attractive points, and the most impressive thing is that, since it came out later than chatGPT, Bard, and Bing, it appropriately absorbed the strengths and weaknesses of each and organized model performance and user-side issues well in terms of UI/UX.
