Online daters are tired. Long-time users are tired and discouraged, and younger users are less enthusiastic about joining. This was somewhat inevitable as online dating became the default social mode in the United States.
But apps aren’t without their problems. Some of the biggest platforms are expensive to use and full of spam. Years of changes in growth strategies and design techniques have turned online dating into something between a game and content consumption. Match Group has activated several teams to apply cutting-edge AI technology to solve key dating pain points. These teams are rapidly developing new features, such as helping users select the best photos and highlighting why a particular profile might be a good match, and they plan to launch them over the next two quarters.
In fact, Tinder, a representative app of Match Group, added a function that uses artificial intelligence to suggest topics of common interest for conversation or help with writing introductions when creating a profile or starting the first conversation.
