Artificial Intelligence encountered through Meta’s social profile

Haebom
As I mentioned last time, Meta unveiled a range of features powered by generative AI at Connect 2023. Among them, I was particularly struck by the introduction of 28 characters designed for use as social profiles, so I wanted to highlight this and share it separately. Simply put, Meta recently added a multi-profile feature to Facebook and Instagram, and one of the ideas behind this is the concept of 'social profiles'. With these social profiles, Meta's GenAI offers a total of 28 unique AI characters. Each of these has its own distinct personality, consistency, and backstory, making interactions with users much more engaging and full of character. To put it plainly, it's like having 28 different bots—some, like Iruda, with specific personalities, others true specialists in their field.

Character examples

Alvin the Alien: An alien character in charge of greetings.
Amber: A character who plays the role of a detective.
Angie: Shares information related to fitness.
Becca: A dog lover who mainly talks about animals.
Billie: Acts as your friendly little sister.
Bob the Robot: A robot character who offers technical information.

Social Profiles

These characters also have social profiles on Facebook and Instagram, making it easy for users to follow them and keep up with what they're up to. In addition, some characters are actually managed by celebrities such as Tom Brady, MrBeast, and Naomi Osaka. In a way, it's a bit like creating their own influencer bubble.
