Have you heard of the term “quiet quitting,” which used to come up often in the news? It doesn’t actually mean resigning; rather, it refers to quietly doing only the bare minimum at work, as if you were about to quit. More recently, the phrase “quiet side hustle” has emerged as a hot keyword.
With the rise of remote work due to COVID-19 and the growth in digital jobs, a new working culture called “quiet side hustle” has been steadily taking root in the U.S. This trend is especially noticeable in digital-related fields such as IT, marketing, and design.

'Side startup': These side gigs are also called 'side startups.' People are working on a variety of digital-related tasks, like app development or Instagram management, outside of their main job.

Labor-management conflict: However, as side hustles like these become more widespread, conflicts between companies and employees are on the rise. Some companies are trying to ban or restrict them. In Korea, this is often controlled through clauses that prohibit holding a second job.

Legal issues: In fact, if your 'quiet side hustle' uses your company's time and resources, it can turn into a legal problem. That’s why it’s important for employees and companies to have clear rules in place. If you engage in side work during business hours or with company resources, you may face legal disadvantages.

저도 창업을 준비하고 있다보니 조용한 부업? 이 되는거겠네요 ㅎㅎ 아마 근데 임금이 높아도 조용한 부업은 계속 있을 것 같네요 ㅎㅎ

국내 대부분의 회사는 겸업금지 조항이 사칙으로 있을거에요. 재택근무가 없어지는 요인 중에 하나기도 하고요. 인스타 광고에 네카라쿠배 출신 개발자를 200만원에 고용하세요라는 광고가 있던데 문제가 있다는거 본인들도 알겠...죠?

회사에서 먼저 알긴 어렵죠. 그렇지만 이런 플랫폼에 등록해서 한다거나 뭔가 유명(?) 해진다면 항상 문제가 되더라고요.
