Meta, which has impressed us with technologies like LLaMA and Seg Anything, announces a chipset

Planning and design have been in progress since 2020, and the first public version has been released as a Meta Training and Inference Accelerator.

This is a silicon chip customized for artificial intelligence technology and will be applied to artificial intelligence data centers and infrastructure that Meta will provide in the future.

We plan to release various artificial intelligence technologies as open source in the future.

MTIA v1: Meta’s first-generation AI inference accelerator

In 2020, we initiated the Meta Training and Inference Accelerator (MTIA) family of chips to support our evolving AI workloads, starting with an inference accelerator ASIC for deep learning recommendation models (DLRMs).
