When the godfather of the music industry tries to handle artificial intelligence

Haebom
Lucian Grainge (루시안 그레인지) is the head of Universal Music Group. You might not realize it when you hear it like that, but he's a major player in the music industry, controlling 30% of the global record market. For instance, more than half of the top 20 most streamed artists on Spotify are signed with UMG. He's a central figure in the music industry with enormous rights, publishing power, and even production studios at his disposal.
Recently, Lucian Grainge voiced his opinion on AI and the music industry. Just as the revival of existing music through AI and collaborations that couldn't happen otherwise are making headlines in Korea, similar stories have been popping up abroad. Combined with the recent writers' strikes, a negative vibe has been spreading as well. (Understandable from a copyright owner's perspective...)
Grainge has stated that he sees the potential changes that AI technology could bring to the music industry in a positive light. In interviews, he predicts the future of the music industry through images, text, and music generated by AI, and expressed his anticipation for the impact of these technologies, showing his willingness to embrace them proactively.
Recently, in the US, a fake duet called 'Heart on My Sleeve,' made by cloning Drake and The Weeknd's voices using AI, became a huge sensation. This kind of technology brings new opportunities to the music industry, but also presents challenges like copyright issues. Grainge isn't afraid of these changes, but he's taking a cautious approach.

AI Covers have already been around for a while, but now with brand new songs coming out, it's giving me a lot to think about. It feels like there will be even more development in style and genre from here on. Personally, the producers I know seem to find this stuff fun, while performers and singers feel a bit threatened, and listeners might be confused but not necessarily in a bad way.
What do you think about new tracks or covers created by AI? If there's an AI-related song you've recently enjoyed, please share it!
