Sam Bankman faces more than 100 years in prison after trial begins

Here’s the latest news on Sam Bankman-Fried, a crypto industry titan and founder and former CEO of FTX, a crypto exchange. He is set to stand trial in a federal court in Manhattan, New York, for allegedly orchestrating one of the largest financial frauds in U.S. history. He is accused of seven criminal counts, including embezzlement, breach of trust, securities fraud, and money laundering. Prosecutors also claim that he froze accounts and secured his own assets in advance to cover up the embezzlement and breach of trust from his clients for personal purchases and from his cryptocurrency hedge fund, Alameda Research. If convicted on all counts, he could face up to 100 years in prison .
