Before the shock of OpenAI's GPTs had even subsided, a leak of an upcoming AI friend feature on Meta has surfaced.
Facebook/Instagram users can choose the gender and age of their AI friends, and even set their race and personality. For example, your AI friend could have a personality of 'Careful', 'Passionate', 'Creative', 'Witty', 'Practical' or 'Strong'. This corresponds to GPTs' Knowledge and Instruction.
Users can choose from interests such as 'DIY', 'Animals', 'Career', 'Education', 'Entertainment', 'Music', and 'Nature' to shape the personality and conversational style of their AI friends. These customizations will make the conversation between users and their AI friends richer and more personal. After making a selection, users will be taken to a chat window where they can select their AI friend's avatar and name and start a conversation.
According to Alessandro Paluzzi, who first reported the leaked screenshots, there are also post creation assistants for Facebook and others. This is built on top of the previously revealed LLaMA 2 and will be used to enhance communities and digital profiles with a variety of proprietary technologies.
