Outline

This paper presents the details of the first W-CODA workshop held in conjunction with ECCV in 2024. W-CODA aims to explore next-generation solutions for corner cases in autonomous driving by leveraging cutting-edge multimodal perception and understanding technologies. Five speakers from academia and industry will share their latest research results and insights, and will collect research papers and a dual-track challenge covering corner case scene understanding and generation. This is a pioneering effort to continuously bridge the gap between cutting-edge autonomous driving technologies and fully intelligent autonomous agents that are robust to corner cases.

Takeaways, Limitations

Takeaways: Providing a new platform for exploring next-generation solutions for extreme situations in autonomous driving and utilizing multi-modal perception technologies, promoting collaboration between academia and industry, and suggesting new research directions for understanding and generating extreme situation scenes.
Limitations: Absence of specific outcomes and impact analysis of the workshop results, limitations in the number of participants and research papers, and lack of review of long-term sustainability and scalability.
