My name is Christina Cobor and I am an eighth grader in Meads Mill. When I first joined the debate club, I was an extremely introverted 6th grader. I had a quiet voice, I was nervous to talk to others, but most importantly, I knew nothing about public speaking or debate. Debate club has helped me overcome my fear of public speaking. Iβve learned immensely about public speaking, voice modulation, and other important skills. Debate club has also made me more social, as I made friends in the club, which helped me turn into the extroverted person I am today. I found out through the debate club that public speaking helped me with my self-confidence. I have seen how the Debate Club has affected others around me and made them more confident. This club has helped me improve many aspects of my life, including socialization, confidence, and knowledge over the past two years. I hope this club continues to impact and influence others the way it influenced me.
