Neo-Dadaism: The "Anti-Design" Revolution

As AI-generated designs become more "perfect," a counter-movement of "Neo-Dadaism" or "Anti-Design" is surging. This trend intentionally breaks traditional design rules—think mismatched fonts, overlapping elements that hinder readability, and "ugly" color combinations that shouldn't work but do. It's a raw, human response to the polished perfection of machine learning.
In Canva, you can achieve this by using the 'Draw' tool to add handwritten scribbles over clean layouts or by using 'Frame' elements in chaotic, non-grid patterns. It's about capturing a "Zine" or "DIY Punk" energy. This works exceptionally well for underground music events, Gen-Z targeted streetwear brands, and creative portfolios that want to stand out by being intentionally defiant.
How to Break the Rules:
•
Typography: Mix 4-5 different fonts in a single sentence.
•
Layering: Place images over your main headlines, forcing the viewer to work to read the message.
