## Primary VS Secondary Sources

Primary source is a piece of evidence created by someone at the time of the event

Secondary source is information created by someone who was not present at an event, after an event happened.

Examples:

- Letter

- Diaries

- Artifacts

Examples:

- Newspapers

- Textbooks

- Biographies

All sources must be approached with caution, consider:

1. Who wrote it

2. Why they wrote it

3. What is included

4. What is left out

5. How helpful it would be
